All of us have unique stories that God has given to us.
Some of us have conversion experience stories.
Some of us have had gradual awareness stories of owning why and how we believe.
But our testimony is more than just coming to a place of faith.
Our testimony is of all of God’s activity in our life.

When I teach on evangelism, I use the following question:
What is God doing in your life today (in this season of life, not a 24 hour time period) that makes the gospel good news?
Surprisingly many people I encounter have a hard time answering that question.
The testimony story is framed only in the context of some event or awareness that happened 10-30 years ago.
So much teaching on “testimony” focuses on what God did at the point of conversion.
To focus only on testimony of conversion is to the language to speak of God’s current activity.
When we are sharing our faith, God may prompt us to share
- how He pursued us prior to our declaring our loyalty to Him, or
- how He has met us in current events, or
- how He walked with us through prior suffering.
We’ve got more than one story.
God remains at work in our life, He is relevant to life today, not just at the point of our conversion or ownership of our faith.
Let me ask you this?
Where is God at work in your life today that makes the gospel good news?
