We have moved our family and now live in a city of 1.8 million people.
We reside in an 14 story condo building, living in one of 26 condos.
We don’t have a car, so we rely on taxis, buses, and our feet to get around.
When Nehemiah left Susa for another city in another country (Jerusalem), the first thing he did was to spend more time praying.
This is what we are doing here.
Praying for our new city, praying for the residents of our building, the cleaning staff, the security guard.
We believe that God has us in this building, in this neighborhood for His purposes. We believe that as we watch and pray, we will see God’s kingdom purpose revealed.
We believe that we will see those Kairos moments where kingdom conversations will occur.
Let me ask you this?
- Are you praying for your neighbors?
- Do you know your neighbors?
- What steps are you making in praying for and getting to know your neighbors?
We’ve met two of our neighbors, and are getting to know the building superintendant.
While I won’t post their stories here yet, I find it divinely coincidental that we are beginning to meet them.
One neighbor we met in a park, and then discovered yesterday they were residents of our building.
We continue to pray.
Chris
This one really hit home! I have new neighbors on one side–single mom, some past poor choices, getting her life back together–it’s been a great opportunity to stretch myself. Am hoping to do more–it’s exciting, but sometimes I need the “kick” to go the extra mile–thanks for the kick!!
Hi Chris…
Convicting post for me. Know a few of my neighbors but not well. Empty houses on either side of me so need to be praying for the relationships that are yet to come.
