The field of evangelism studies is huge.
One day I sat down to think, “Well, if I think of evangelism training, what else do I think about?”
And what came out was this mind map. Click on the image to enlarge the image
There are lots of different areas to examine. For example,
- Church growth materials.
- Mission teams.
- What tools do you use to share evangelism
- Preaching Skills
As I think of the theology of evangelism, within the various streams of the Christian church, you’ve got a couple of different ways to put the salvation process together.
And so then there is the whole area about
- conversation skills
- gospel scripts to follow (which reflect your theology)
- Preaching skills in the church, which is very different than preaching outside the church, on the streets, which is different from preaching on the mission field and public parks.
Let me ask you this?

New Christian Life Coaching with a trained discipleship coach, entry into our intentional balanced discipleship process that includes teaching and hands-on ministry and missional opportunities. etc. See http://www.simplediscipleship.com or read the book for ideas.
Great mind map! The only thing I might add is something about the role of the pastor and other church leaders. Leaders need to model evangelistic lifestyles, and promote evangelism through teaching and preaching on it.
Just a thought…
